Carolyn S. Barone, born in Trenton, Michigan, USA. From a rural Michigan upbringing, she relocated to the Los Angeles, California, area in 1981. Her formal art studies began when she enrolled in drawing classes at the California Art Institute, Thousand Oaks, California. Under the expert instruction of artist Norm Nason, she was inspired to study portrait, figure, still life and landscape using mediums of charcoal, pastel, oil and most recently watercolor. In addition to drawing and painting with Norm Nason, she received further instruction from such accomplished artists as Neil Boyle, David Jonas, Jeremy Lipking, Ryan Wurmser and Nancy Rizzardi. She is currently focused on producing portraits in all mediums and has recently completed commissioned portraits in charcoal. Carolyn feels it is an artist's good fortune to have studied at the California Art Institute and to be in the company of many well-known, respected artists. She is a member of the Studio Channel Island Art Center as well as a Painting Patron of the California Art Club.
